Using coupon codes to increase traffic

The use of coupon codes is a proven way to increase traffic to your listings on Amazon and was recently made available to sellers in Europe. However, there is a cost to this, as you’re offering a discount on each sale and a redemption fee each time a coupon is claimed by a buyer (£0.45 per redemption). Due to these costs, I would not advise using coupons on low margin products.

For other products, my advice is to test a coupon code for 1 week and then compare your performance with and without the coupon. If your overall profit for that product has increased during this 1 week test period, it’s a winner!

To create your first coupon, click on “Vouchers” under the “Advertising” menu in Seller Central. This is a strategy I’d test immediately, as there are very few sellers doing this in Europe right now.

Does Amazon owe you money?

I’d like to introduce Refunds Manager, who help sellers like you get repaid money they are owed by Amazon.

They audit your FBA account for discrepancies or mistakes made by Amazon, and submit cases to claim your money back.

I like this service because it’s hands off and they only get paid (25% commission) if Amazon owes you money! It works for Amazon US and EU too.
